Who I Am

Dyed In The Wool is my one-woman show, my name is Shereen Amarin, and I’m always looking for a new and exciting challenge ;-)

I am a highly skilled video producer/scriptwriter with over 12 years of professional experience. My experience includes working for a multinational advertising agency-MEMAC Ogilvy, where I started as a copywriter and quickly delved into motion graphics, film and music as a backdrop to my writing. I took on the responsibilities of becoming the company’s sole video producer, and was given the opportunity to further my experience on a wide range of media, from radio promotions and jingles to big budget TV advertisements.

In 2017, I started my own business in content creation, and built a diverse clientele ranging from solo artists, art collectives and startups, to advertising agencies and international development organizations. Subsequently, my one-woman show extended across multiple roles. As a scriptwriter, I have written scripts that were approved by institutions such as the Arab Bank, the Center for International Communication, the Supreme Commission for Tourism in the KSA, Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the Saudi Public Investment Fund; and international organizations such as the UNOCHA. As an animator, I have created unique illustrations for organizations such as Relief International, and for local startups such as TokMob and set them to motion utilizing softwares including Procreate and Adobe After Effects. As a filmmaker, I start from the ground up, scriptwriting, filming, conducting and translating interviews all the way through to editing footage and sound files on Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition, adding music, VOs and subtitles. My experience in video content ranges from promotional to presentational to personal and boasts many styles and techniques. Working independently, as well as part of a team, my background includes budget and resource allocation, setting deadlines and selecting optimal forms of media for projects.

For the past six years, I have been working as a concultant with the UNOCHA offices in Amman, New York, Geneva and The Hague, on multiple projects including but not limited to; a series of short films in the Levant to demonstrate the Country-Based Pooled Funds’ role in delivering assistance to the people affected by conflict or disaster in Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan; films to cover the CBPFs and CERF’s achievements throughout a given year; film-clips in broadcast ready-to-air quality covering topics like famine, gender-based violence, and natural disasters for high-level UN events; a film marking 10 years of war in Syria; and a film covering CERF's response to the war in Ukraine, adaptable to social media channels to be shared with donors and partners. For the aforementioned projects, I took on full production responsibility from ideation till execution, successfully capturing and conveying personal moments relatable to global audiences.

With a thirst to stay up to date with the latest in film, music and art, a knack for creative storytelling, and a commanding knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, I pride myself on being a natural and a professional.
